Funeral Information

The parish staff would like you to know that our heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to you at this time of loss. We will be glad to answer any questions that you may have as we are here to help and guide you through the funeral process.

If you are using Wilbert’s Funeral Home, they work closely with us and will contact us while you are in your appointment. If you are using another funeral home, you should call the parish office at (225) 383-1838 prior to your appointment at that funeral home. This is so that we can make sure the church and priest are available for the funeral.

 

FUNERAL PACKET

We have compiled a Funeral Planning Packet that will guide you through the process of planning a funeral. If you are using Wilbert's Funeral Home, they should have our packets on hand. If not, you may either pick one up at our office or click on the links below to print the information. Planning in advance could be helpful and take some of the burden off during a very difficult time.

Reservation and Fee Information:

• Arrangements & Information Sheets - We will need these returned to our office no later than 20 hours prior to the funeral. The priest or deacon must have this to prepare the service.
• Old Testament Readings (1st Reading)
• New Testament Readings (2nd Reading)
• Gospel Reading
• Music Selection
• Non-Parishioner: $500

Funeral Stipends:
If you are using Wilbert’s Funeral Home, they will take care of all stipends to us. If you are using a different funeral home, the funeral stipends are as follows:

• Funeral Use of Church Prior to Mass (2 hours maximum) - $60 per hour
• Funeral Mass - $50
• Music Fee - $200 average (depends on people hired)
